Therapy Pets

Gifts through the years. The whole thing started about 2 1/2 years ago at Valentines day. We found a special on little stuffed bears and decided to buy them to give to the people we visited regularly. The response from the people was tremendous. When they figured out the toys were for them we had several cry because they were happy. It surprised us and it was then that we decided we would do gifts four times a year. We give out gifts for Valentines day, Easter or Spring, Halloween and Christmas. W e got together all the presents we have given out over the last couple of years and got a picture. We thought you might like to see them so here they are.

Christmas of 2002& 2003 we gave out Christmas cards with pictures and the names of the dogs.

On Valentines day 2004 we distributed little white bears with an I love you heart. They were actually dog toys but they were very cute. Besides what toy would a dog buy for a person anyway.

Easter of 2004 we distributed washrag rabbits. If they did not want the rabbit they could use the washrag. We made 100 washrag rabbits.

Halloween 2004 - Stuffed Halloween Characters

Christmas 2004 we gave out over 140 handmade lap blankets.

Valentines day 2005 sachets for drawers or closets. we made them out of little favor bags used for weddings and put scented bath salts and a heart with Happy Valentines day and one of the dogs pictures inside. We made 114 little sachets and gave them all away. The bag we carried them in was a little tough, but everyone was happy with them.

Easter 2005 we gave out little bunny baskets with handmade soaps.

Halloween this year is a picture with a Halloween card of the pets. We have our cards completed for Halloween and have them ready to give out. You can see the card below

The Christmas present this year is going to be small decorator pillows with the animals on the front, pictured above. We had several people want to buy a pillow at the Health Fair so we let them know we will have pillows available for sale at the Fund Raiser. We are selling the pillows for $5 each. Hopefully we will be able to sell a few during the pictures. We are having a pillow prep day on October 22nd. We are going to finish assembling the kits for the pillows and hand them out to the Cassia Regional Volunteers who have offered to help us sew them together.  We are very thankful for their assistance and the hospital's support of our group.
