Every time I smile
it really means "I love you"
And it doesn't take much -
just the sight of you and I can't NOT smile
I live just to feel your touch
and long for you when we're apart -
which is all to often, I might add
Your kiss is intoxicating
the moment our lips touch time ceases to matter
and all else ceases to be
There is no one else and nothing else -
just you and me
You inspire me to overcome my fears
and to become more than I am.

You Know Who You Are ...

I can see you watching me
from the corner of my eye
I'm playing dumb
don't wanna know
can't look into your eyes
I gaze straight ahead
Trying to ignore your stare
I can't let this happen
'cuz my heart isn't there
I care so much
for you, my friend
But I love someone else
I don't want to deceive you,
but I feel like I am
I don't know how to bring this up
and don't know if I can
I'm not the same person
that you knew
those years ago
We were so close back then
but have now drifted apart
But you should know
you've always been
not far from my heart
This doesn't change the way things are
you know me better than that
but know that I respect you
and try to live with that

The Silly Little Things I Never Say

~Every night at bedtime, I kiss a reindeer goodnight, wishing it was you

~I crave your touch when we're together, and the sound of your voice, when we're not

~There are times when I find it hard to fall asleep without you beside me. There are even times when I fall asleep hugging a pillow, pretending that it's you . . .

~I hate it when you have to go . . .

~I love it when my bed smells like you, and dread that scent going away

For You (you know who you are, too)

I give you the only gift I have to give
I give you my Self, my true self
Not the self that I show to the world
but the self that is really me:
All the imperfections, that I usually try to hide
the quirks, the secrets - I'll tell you anything you want to know
The things that no one else sees,
the things that no one else knows
Are yours, and yours alone to know
I give you myself, and I give this freely,
making me vulnerable
putting my total trust in you
with no inhabitions
this is given freely, not asked for
