X-Brawn (Wildride)

Retail: $9.99

A U.S. re-release of the Japanese Car Robots toy

Color Scheme= Silver, aqua green, and black in vehicle mode.  Forest green, silver, grey, black, and red in robot mode.  He has an Autobot symbol on his hood and some transmetallized silver/gold parts.

Vehicle Mode= A Mercedes M-Class van with a spare tire molded on the back.  It's very stable and rolls freely, though like Prowl, X-Brawn has a tendency to go right.  His robot head is visible through the windshield in this mode. This is interesting because in Japan, the driver sits on the right, which is the side his robot head is on.  His weapons store underneath the chassis and are molded to look like running boards.  But the fit isn't exact on his right missle, and it tends to come loose.  However, X-Brawn is outfitted with real rubber tires which say: Transformers TM.  His front hood can also open to display his engine, which is transmetal silver.  A nice touch.

Robot Mode= In this mode, X-Brawn looks very anime-like.  That is, his proportions are off.  His head and torso look basic-size, while his legs are larger.  His right arm is a spring-loaded missle launcher with a fist molded around it.  It can shoot either one of two weapons: a straight missle or a sword blade.  The one that is not in use can be stored on X-Brawn's shoulder, or optionably, both can be stored in pegs on his back hood.  His left arm is noticably larger than his right, and is formed mainly of his front hood section (A transmetallized Autobot symbol is emblazoned on its underside).  The right front wheel rotates out to reveal his left hand which has a movable thumb.  His bumper can detach and be held in this hand as a type of blade.  The rest of his vehicle mode (doors and hood) just hangs off his back as kibble.  X-Brawn is very detailed and has many patterns of techno bits with dabs of color (Red, Constructicon green, and black).  His head is molded with a Prime-like face shield, gold eyes, and a red triangle.  Side Note: Out of all three Car Brothers, X-Brawn's robot mode is my personal favorite.

Overall: Great vehicle and robot modes, a little kibblish, but his great weapons and looks make up for it.

A+

Side Burn
(Speedbreaker)

Retail: $9.99

A U.S. re-release of the Japanese Car Robots toy

Color Scheme= Kentucky blue, white, and sky blue, with silver accents in vehicle mode.  Off-white, same blues,  and transmetal red in robot mode.  Assorted other colors: translucent yellow, transmetal silver, and pink.

Vehicle Mode= A blue Dodge Viper with a light blue and white flame pattern.  Side Burn looks suspiciously like Hot Rod with cool colors.  Very stable and rolls freely, but YOU GUESSED IT- it tends to go to the right.  His missle doubles as an exhaust pipe and can be fired out of his rear bumper.

Robot Mode= Spindly, bow-legged, and bald-headed.  Just joking of course, but you get the idea.  Side Burn's toy isn't anything to call home about.  Though his torso and arms are molded well, his leg joints are very weak and he tends to fall over too much.  His rear bumper forms a missle launcher, and he comes with a transmetal silver gun/sword (Think Magmatron) that he can hold in either hand.  However, Side Burn has big kibble problems.  His hood pieces just hang off his back and his car top hangs off his left arm hurting poseability and looks.  Plus, his robot head is badly molded.  His nose looks like a triangle!  It's Raggedy-Side Burn!  Seriously, he looks like Pinocchio.  Anyway...

Overall: The vehicle mode is awesome, but his robot mode is lacking.  Except for a kitbash...tee hee....
