Donna Mair is from BC Canada. She is a 40 years old Construction/first aid consultant. Her first contact with Tolkien was in her 14, and LOTR enchanted her, being a world so special and so real. Elves aascinated her for their honesty, forthrightness, grace but also toughness. She likes Sindarin because of its celtic sounds, that remind her of her ancestry (Irish and Scottish).

Since her 15, Donna wanted a tattoo but could never figure out what to get. When the movie came out, she got to know how beautiful Elvish is both in sound and writting. She knew that elvish was what she wanted. She has a strong christian faith and there was a line in a song that stuck with her for months: Jesus commands my destiny so she finally decided to see if she could create something interesting with an elvish font.

After doing some initial attempts, she had others in the Elfling mailing list to check for errors. She justily wanted to make sure of 100% accuracy

The tattoo is written in Sindarin using Tengwar (Tengwar Parmaite font) and reads:
Eru cân vanadh nîn
'God commands my destiny'
