Sylvia Bertoncin (right) is 22 from Monza, Italy. She works for a Coca-Cola office in Milan. She has always been fascinated by elves and fairies since she feels to belong somehow in their magical world (she has already a small fairy tattoo). However she 'admits' she firstly knew Tolkien in August 2002, when she watched the movie in England. She hasn't read the books yet (she still looks fot a genuine English edition).

She has been however interested in Elvish. She has been present in a Tolkien convention in Brescia on March 2003, where she met Elvish linguists. She hopes whe will study elvish sometime.

Sylvia and Frederica (left) have been very good friends for years. They both wanted to make an Elvish tattoo that would mark their friendship for ever. Sylvia sought for help in Elfling where she found the help needed. Sylvia had it tattooed it on her ankle, and Federica on her lower back.

The tattoo is written in Sindarin using Tengwar and reads:
Gwethil an uir
'Sisters for ever'
