Terry Dock (aka Melhael in Sindarin) is from Belgium he is 25. He first read Tolkien's work as a teenager, which as he says, it was a genuine revelation, like a whole new world coming into being around him. He discovered about Elven languages years later, with the Silmarillion. He wanted a name for himself in Quenya, and then in Sindarin. As he says he became... 'addicted', and the more he learned, the more he wanted to know.

This ring verse was his first attempt to write Sindarin 5 years ago. He wanted to express something with the word estel which inspired him.

Terry printed the motto in the Tengwar Sindarin font by Dan Smith, and his grandfather, who is luckily a jewelsmith, showed it to an engraver in Esneux.

Terry almost always wears it now. It's more than a lucky charm to him, since it reminds him of darker times when everything seemed to fall apart. He recalls how he managed to keep his faith in the future and that hope is always present. He has named it Estelya after the Three Elven rings.

He finally says: "And it provides a good topic of conversation, because people ask about it and want to know what it says, as well as what that strange script is. I guess all our tattoos and rings serve the same unplanned purpose: they help to spread the ancient lore of the Eldar. More prosaically, they're advertisement. :)"

The inscription is written in Sindarin using Tengwar, and reads:
Drego i aur; dortho i estel
