March, 1997 : First saw the Anthony Andrews/Jane Seymour version from the back of a crowded history class. Hooked.

Reading the Paper

September ? 1997 : I discover it's a musical. Glancing at the newspaper article about an upcoming broadway benefit concert, I read that it featured "songs from long-running shows... and new musicals such as... "The Scarlet Pimpernel". What?

November 1998: By a stroke of pure luck, get to see the musical. (to the early pimpies who promoted the show, my undying gratitude.) Walked out of the theater slightly dazed, as one getting off an amusement park ride: Let's do that again!
