Review: This is Oasis' 2nd album. Their debut being Masterplan,
which isn't really recognized and not many people own it. The album kicks off
with the track "Rock 'n' Roll Star" which introduces us to Liam Gallagher's droaning
voice. It's quite an up beat track and kicks offf the album to a good start. "Live Forever"
is a nice acousticy piece and really is quite a pleasent song, I like it. "Supersonic"
is another good track, again quite up-beat and then we come to "Cigarette's And Alcohol"
a fabulous song, with a very T-Rex style (Almost identical) Riff the rest of the song follows
suite with a 12 bar blues pattern in E. This is quite a well known song, I've even heard Rod
Stewart do a version! "Married with Children" nicely ends the album with just acoustic guitar
and Liam singing. Noel Gallagher says this is his favourite album, and there are a few
good songs on there, so I can see why.
Other Features: The front cover is very
interesting, it involves the band sitting in a room looking at objects all around and inside
we see black and white pictures of the Gallagher brothers doing what they do best,
smoking and drinking! Along with other pics of the band members and Noel "playing"
his guitar. No Lyrics!

Review: Oasis' 3rd album. This too the world by storm. At the time
Oasis were battling with Blur for the title of "Best Indie Band" so maybe Oasis
felt under pressure to bring out a good album, they did, nearly every young guiatrist
can play the simple capoed progression that "Wonderwall" brings. "Wonderwall"
managed to reach number 2 in the U.K charts. "Hello" shows the use of Gary Glitter
lyrics, "Hello ,hello, it's good to be back (Good to be back)" which I feel is a rather
warm welcome to the album. "Roll with It" is opened with a lovely D7 chord (Followed
by a C9 and a G for anyone who wants to learn how to play it) which spices up the song.
The Instrumental "Swamp Songs" are a little better than Blur's Instrumentals. Every song
on this album is memorable and "Champagne Supernova" is a nice little closer for the
album. If you don't have this album, and let's face it nearly everyone does, you should buy
it, it's a little out-dated now, but it's still full of lovely songs. So who are the Best indie
band? Blur or Oasis? Oasis are good because they don't clog their albums up with lousy
instrumentals, but Blur produce good album sleeves, and better all round songs.
Other Features: An average Sleeve

Review: This is Oasis' 4th album and it has a lot to live up to
bearing in mind the previous success of "Morning Glory" And I'm pleased
to say that this album DOES live up to it, it's a REALLY good album, and
one that can be listened to over and over! Noel Gallagher hates this album
and has described it as "F**king Sh*t" I'm not sure why, as it's very good,
but I think it's because he was using cocaine when he recorded it, maybe
he thinks that the cocaine had more control over his playing than him?
"D'you know What I Mean" starts the album off quite nicely and "Magic Pie"
Shows that Noel really is quite multi-talented as we see him singing for this
number. "Stand by me" has a typical Oasis style riff in it, but it sounds strangely
alike "Strong" by Robbie Williams "That fat dancer from Take That" As Liam likes
to call him! "Stand By Me" was actually released before "Strong" so Robbie,
are you tking a dig at Oasis? "Fade-in Out" If you want to listen to a good slide
guitar song, listen to this. It is WONDERFUL. Although it's not actually Noel
Gallagher playing the slide guitar, it's Johnny Depp, as in THE movie star Johnny
Depp. Other good songs include "Don't Go Away" and "Be Here Now" and then we c
ome to "All Around The World" This song would be wnderful if it wasn't for the simple
fact that it lasts forever (about 8 mins) then there's a reprise of it at the end of the
album! This album is very Beatley and includes a lot of acoustic strumming on an
electric guitar, a style tha we asscoiate with Oasis now.
Other Features: The cover is again interesting, much a like the "Definately
Maybe" album this front cover includes the band standing with strange objects around
them, including a car in a swimming pool (?) Does anyone know what "August 21
Thursday" means inside the album? Is this the date that the photo shoot took place or
the date that the album was recorded? There are larger pictures of the strange objects
inside along with pics of the band. Overall I think this album is fabulous, it's easily to the
same standards of "Morning Glory" So what's Noel moaning about? It gets no complaints
from me.

Review: Oasis' 5th album kicks off with a Led Zeppelin style
Instrumental, "F**kin' In The Bushes" It's an excellent Instrumental,
The riff is very Funky and the little sond samples of "Kids running around
naked F**kin' in the bushes" fits nicely and is really just laughable. This
kind of song isn't what we'd expect from Oasis, but I'd love to see more
like it from the band. "Go Let It Out" Is nice and peaceful including acoustic
guitar with little electric fills and solos added to give it a bit of a lift. "Who
Feels Love" is has a very phychadelic feel to it, are the band trying to make
their Sgt. pepper album? And "Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is" sports a
harder feel. "Little James" was actually written by Liam this time. All
previous Oasis hits have been written by Noel, this song is a Liam debut,
it's not bad, a nice piano ballad, a bit like "Hey Jude" or "let It Be" by The
Beatles and shows where Liam gets his influences. What has he done to his
hair? "Where Did It All Go Wrong" gives Noel a chance to sing, and includes the
lovely lyric "Do you keep the receipt, for the friends that you buy?" What an
excellent lyric, the song is all about Noel's drug addiction. "I Can See A Liar"
has a GREAT beginning riff although "I can see a liar, sitting by the fire" isn't
exactly a fabulous lyric, I've seen 5 year olds say better rhymes!
Other Features: 10 songs, dropping a bit from the previous 11 and 12
that we've seen from Oasis, but nevermind. The front cover is nice, I think it's
an excellent picture of the city, and inside we are given lyrics typed in the font
courier, to give it a personal "Fresh from the typewriter" feel. Also there are
some smeared pictures of the band and the overall result is very colourful. Nice.
Noel likes this album, but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as "Morning
Glory" or "Be Here Now"
