Werewolves are an old race.  Older than humantiy.  How we became is lost in time.  Were we mearly wolves awaiting humans to awaken the change in us?  Or was it some god who saw fit to birth us?  Such speculation is useless now.  The "Dawn of Werewolves" is long passed.  We are few and must look forward and try to endure.  Once we roamed the forest and mountains unopposed.  Until the coming of Humans and Vampires.  Humans thought they could best us with their religion and silver.  They had encountered Half-Bloods, killed them and grown arrogant.  Fueled by these victories and their faith, they believed us to be unholy demons that they, as the righteous children of God, must rid the world of.  They attacked in great numbers and killed many of us.  When we fought back, we fought like demons.  Vampires are our oppoistes in nature and as such we war against one another.  We are immortal enemes and shall always be until one or the other is wiped from the earth.  However because of the larger numbers of Humans and Vampires our anger has been curbed.  Our rage is now rendered impotent.  We cannot fight back with such ease as we once had.  As we have been beaten furhter and further back, we have learned much about our new enemies.  Not all Humans are the mindless cattle we once took them for.  We could ally ourselves with some.  Although these few are still seen as less than Half-Bloods.  Vampires are not as mighty an enemy as we once believed.  We thought that if we were to be destroyed by creatures like the first Vampires we fought then we could go to our deaths with honour.  however, we discoverd that Vampires are little more than leeches, feeding off the existence of others and hidng in the shadows.  We cannot succumb to such a creature.
We were foolish and far far too proud and it has cost us.

And so, now there are now only Seven Clans of Werewolves left.  The council is made up of only six the Alphas, with the seat of the Baolach Fuil now left empty.  If he has survived then Allta Croi has not seen fit to restore his Clan.  This in itself is a source of contention in the counci and Allta Croi's postion as Alpha of the Baolach Fuil has been disputed.  Because of the Clan's sometimes radically differing views and certain council member's ulterior motives, the Council is seen to be weak and useless in this time of struggle.
An Síoraí Cruinne:
The Eternal Earth.  The oldest of the clans and the only one still to use magic.  They believe that the other Six Clans should hide from the rest of the world until the numbers of Werewolves increase.  They often use the example of the Baolach Fuil to prove their arguement.

The Ghost Claws:

For reasons lost in the mists of time this clan's fur is all white.  The Ghost Claws have since moved to the far north where their fur can be used to their advantage.  They seek to keep the old ways alive as much as they can and often urge the other clans to do the same.  They also agree with the Síoraí Cruinne that the time for a war with the vampires is not now.

The Blood Moons:

The Blood Moons have distanced themselves from the rest of the clans and become mercinaries and assassins.  They feel that the time for conflict with the other races has passed and is no longer of any importance.  They now make money by being paid to kill and view this as a sort of twisted justice.  Though they claim they no longer care about the conflict with vampires they will take any job that allows them to face vampires in combat without hesitation.

The Shadows of the Forest:

The Shadows are a silent and secrective clan who keep to themselves as much as possible.  It is said, more whispered, that they are allied to Dark Things and are mearly awaiting the time to strike against the vampires and humans.  Should this happen it is believed that their Alpha, Razor Soul, would use this power to disolve the already weakened council and make himself overall ruler of the other clans.

The Risen Sun:

The Risen Sun clan is an anomily as it is comprised entirely of females.  The clan's males were wiped out over the years and, not wishing to lose everything they had built up, the remaining females made a deal with the goddess Cerridwen.  The exact nature of the deal is unknown to all outside the Risen Sun, but every summer there are more female cubs.

Baolach Fuil:

The Dangerous Blood clan has been wiped from the earth.  They were a sister clan to the Eternal Earth whose teachings they would no longer abide by.  The Baolach Fuil believed that they should not hide in the dark and ignore the problems caused by humans and vampires but should stand and fight.  But in the end it was too little too late.  The Seven Clans numbers were already starting to dwindle and the few Werewolves that joined with the Baolach Fuil found themselves hideously outnumbered.  But they still fought to the last.
There is however a rumour of one member of this fierce clan left alive.  He is said to have barely survived the Baolach Fuil's last stand and hid in secret until he regained his strength.   He continues to fight in there name.  His name is Allta Croí.
