Goat was up early, I could have slept another 2 hours. We packed up and were hiking by 8:20, not too bad. Vermont continues to be beautiful. We took a snack break at Winnhall Bridge then entered the wilderness area. The terrain was a litte more rugged but still nice. We began to descend. We stopped at Prospect Rock and had lunch. There was a view that overlooked Manchester Center. Baltimore Jack and Emma were sitting in a rock taking a break. We packed up and continued down the trail.
The roots were hurting the balls of my feet, but I soon forgot about it and we picked up speed. We crossed the road that led to Manchester Center and saw Kermy, Chef and Tuna. It was good to see them. It's probably been 2 months since we saw them last.
We started a sharp climb up Bromley Mountain. It was almost 3 miles long and took a little out of me. When I thought we were at the top I looked up and saw another climb. Reached the warming hut about 4:30. It was an enclosed hut with a porch and a nice viewing platform. It also has a chairlift near it. Chef and Tuna are sleeping in the chairlift, Goat Kermy, Spry, Hippy, Torp and Hayes and I are in the hut. We're so high above everything else, I bet I can pick up NPR on the radio. Maybe I can fall asleep to some jazz or folk music.
