There was a time in distant past when the Daoine Sidhe ruled all Eire. A time when the strength of the Great Tower of mBeo was unmatched, and no foe dared challenge the noble creatures who wielded the power of ancient Glamours. The emerald land was peaceful and its inhabitants enlightened, and the royal Seelie and Unseelie Courts brought deliverance to all.

The Sons of Mil, in teeming hordes armed with coldest iron, laid waste to the paradise. Men, women, children all were put to the sword to feed the Celts' bloodlust greed. The Great Tower was toppled, the Courts of Tir na n'Og sacked. Facing annihilation at the hands of those who granted no mercy, the Sidhe drew a ritual of desperation, the greatest Glamour ever to be cast. The Veil of Worlds was born, and the Sidhe and many lesser faefolk fled into its protective embrace.

We are Siabra. We are the titular rulers of the Unseelie Courts. Ours is the right to dominion of all Hibernia. By traitors and usurpers our right has been torn from us. We are wise, we are strong, we are noble. Now that we have been cast forth from the Veil, there is but one path in front of us: a return to the rule of the Old Laws by whatever means necessary.

On Being Siabra

Playing a noble pureblood Sidhe of the Unseelie Courts is not just about sneering and insulting your numerous lessers. That's a good start, of course, but there's a certain subtlety to the act that requires some thought. We are not only a roleplaying-enforced guild but primarily a roleplaying guild, and thus you should be aiming for a well imagined, three dimensional character. We are laughing villains, of course, but we are also many other things. We laugh, we cry, we rage and most of all we exist to challenge the moral sensibilities of our lessers with our sophistry. Achieving all that requires much more than a two dimensional thug!

Backstory is important. You should know at least something of who you are, where you come from and why you are here. Just as important as backstory is consistency; in these pages lurk a plethora of Siabra background material that you can use as a framework for composing your character's story. Siabra come from one of seven geographically defined clans. You need to pick a clan. Siabra have been cast out of the Veil against their will. You need to decide how you view the elves who have caused this. Siabra have a long memory for transgressions against them. You need to determine how you act towards the usurping Celts and the subjugated Firbolg. And so on. It sounds like a lot of work, but you need not consider every aspect of Siabra existence prior to joining the guild; as long as you have an outline to build on, you can come up with details along the way.

The fundamental in-game principles of the Siabra guild can be summed up thus:

Ostensibly, we are part of a diplomatic embassy to Tir na n'Og sent by the Siabra Queen Cliodna's Court in the Bog of Cullen. We are seeking to negotiate an amnesty with the citizens of Brigit's Court; in return for a cessation of hostilities against our people, we agree to stand side by side with Brigit's lot in the war against the foreign invaders.
In truth we are on a mission of subversion and espionage, using our respectable front to gather critical intelligence that will aid the Siabra in their upcoming grand invasion of Hibernia.
Behind the Veil, we had for centuries held all faefolk under the rule of our ancient laws. Now we have been exiled from the Veil by upstart Seelie like Fagan and King Lugh, exiled once again from our land-by-rights. Once all Hibernia is under our domination, we will use the accumulated wisdom and power of our subjugated minions to open a path beyond the Veil. Some younger Siabra, those who have never looked upon the lands Beyond, scoff at this notion, but the elders know that is the land to which they must ultimately return; if we Siabra stay too long in these dark lands, our immortality will eventually be stripped from us.

Contact any of the guild leaders or one of the Advisors to set up an in and out-of-game interview. Make sure to come with a clear conception of who you are and why you are petioning the Siabra delegation for admittance!
