Sandray are a strange species. Looking much like an ordinary stingray, they mostly live in the Deep Desert where they prey on gecko's, sandspiders and the occasional traveler. These critters half hover, half crawl over the endless sands, much like a stingray would move on the bottom of the ocean. They have the uncanny chameleon-like ability to blend in, in their surroundings and they don't have any perceptible odor, which makes them extra hard to discover. Many a hapless victim found himself surrounded by a group of patiently waiting sandrays but, at that point it's already too late. Sandrays possess a rudimentary intelligence and are quite cunning at laying an ambush.
