There are four known varieties of the giant scorpions:
the brown, the black, the green and the white.

The brown scorpion is the most common of the Giant Scorpion. It is a huge critter 5 feet by 10 with a obviously dangerous stinger on its tail.
The black variety is the stronger version, although not much bigger in size it is definitely more deadly in melee combat. Add to this the fact that its poison is a lot more lethal and you've got yourself an opponent you do not want to mess with. They are very aggressive and can often be found leading packs of other scorpions into combat.
The third kind of scorpion is the green one. It is a smaller scorpion (measuring 5 by 3) but its poison is a lot more dangerous. Once injected with the green scorpion's poison, it only takes mere seconds after which the victim loses all sanity. Even people that have survived an encounter with a green scorpion (thanks to fellow warriors of course) remain insane for a long time. Although medicine coktails have been known to cure the madness, a fitting antidote has yet to be found. This fiendish critter can always be found in the company of other scorpions where it fills their ranks as a deadly soldier of madness.
The fabled white scorpion is a creature of myth much like the unicorn in other fantasy settings. It is the most deadly scorpion of all and it is even rumored to posses a rudimentary intelligence.
