Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: All Simple and Martial MELEE weapons, Light and Medium Armor. Adaptation: The Legionnaire of Athos has learned to become part of the wilderness. He doesn’t need to make checks any more in order to see if he can survive in a given climate. He gets to use his full move when using Wilderness Lore (except in the harshest of environments due to weather etc.). Mark of the Legion: All Legionnaires of Athos are trained with the weapons of the Legion. At second level the legionnaire gets a free exotic weapon proficiency in one the following weapons: kusari gama, bastard sword, double glaive. A kusari gama is double weapon, it is a large sickle (shaped like a small scythe) with a long chain attached to one end. The chain is ten feet long and ends in a steel ball. The double glaive is a polearm that has a glaive blade attached to both ends. Deadly Efficiency: This can only be used with the weapons of the legion. Their training allows them deal extra damage with these weapons. The legionnaire gets the noted damage bonus whenever his target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when he flanks the target. Should the legionnaire score a critical hit, this extra damage is not multiplied. Stealth: The legionnaire receives a +2 bonus to both Move Silent and Hide checks. Iron vigil: Through rigid training the legionnaire can now survive three days without food and water and suffer no penalties. In fact most legionnaires try to hone this skill by only eating every other day. Tactical Advantage: When the legionnaire gets a chance to study his target, he can direct an attack (an ambush) that gives him and his allies a clear advantage. In order to do this, he must make a wisdom check DC: 15. If this succeeds, the entire party surprises their target. If it fails, run combat as normal. Art of Combat: After three rounds of combat, the legionnaire has studied his opponent’s fighting-style and adapts his own style accordingly. He gets a +2 bonus to attack and AC against that opponent (until that opponent gains a level). Expert Tactician: Whenever the legionnaire surprises an opponent, he can take a full round action instead of the normal partial action. Lethal Strike: After three rounds of combat, the legionnaire detects a fatal flaw in his opponents fighting style. During one of the following round (the legionnaire can decide which round) he goes all out, all his attacks deal double damage for that round. This is stackable with criticals, but not with Deadly Efficiency. |
