Review: SIMburbia. |
This is my first visit to SIMburbia, and I have to say right off the bat that I really like the space theme they have going. The navigation is easy to follow, and this appears to be a skin site.
At the time of this review, we have some coming attractions...looks like Ladies in Red. I'm thinking maybe Valentine's Day? Well, in any case, I like the skins. I'm not a skinner by any means, so when I review skins, you'll forgive me if I don't know all the ins and outs.
I'm cruising through the woman's section, and Goth fans will be happy to know I've found some Goth skins. Seems most of these skins (if not all, I wasn't counting) are all "Buyable" for Hot Date owners. I have to say I like Portia and Amy skins the best. The shadowing is great and they appeal to my taste. Normally, I wouldn't like a cowgirl skin, but Amy is very nicely done.
Alright, let's head to mens...heeeeellooooo Antonio, goodbye review. Ok, I shall try to focus. Wow. I have to say that most skin sites really let me down when it comes to male skins, but these are great. Let me tell you what I like. I really like Adrian's shoes. Don't ask me why, I just do. As someone who has tried to skin and failed miserably, shoes are an area that I just couldn't get, so I always look. These sneakers are great! Ok, drop everything. Our buddy Connor has a kilt. I don't get out much, maybe this is an old idea, but, it's new to me. What a great idea! (Is our webmaster a Highlander fan, by any chance?) Dexter is interesting. This is something that I would not normally download, but it deserves mention because it is, well, neat. I like the tattoo on his back in that one version. Nice touch. Finally, on page 1 is Jake doing his best Rock stance. Love the watch. Great attention to detail here, I just love the little touches.
Now I'm heading to themes. I see Tomb Raider coming up. I always loved that video game, so I'll head there first. Wow. The first three skins coming up look great. I'm not as thrilled about the bottom three, but, after the first three...it's just that it's hard to top those first three. I like the Speedo, but the breasts seem a little off on the white silk nighty. I'm sure Tomb Raider fans will love this area.
There are some other themes here as well, including Vampires and Movie Characters. It all looks great. Well done.
I will give this site a (4) because I enjoyed my visit. Things are neatly put together, the site is clean and sharp, the graphics are well done, and so are the skins. Well worth your time.
