Review: The 13th Sim. |
This is my first visit to the 13th Sim, and I can tell you right off we have
a dark setting and some very neat navigation. The buttons have a flame
graphic when you roll over them, then a drop down menu from there. Very
nice. I have to scroll to the right to see the entire page, I believe that
is a resolution issue. I like to keep mine at 800x600, but some people are
set to 1024x768. The people at 1024x768 should see this page fine, I
believe, but, I think most resolutions are set to 800x600.
I'm going to take it from the top, so I am in objects. All of the objects
are recolors, but nicely done. I like the red and blue ones myself, then
there are other colors if you are into the purples and teals. Next, we have
some nice fantasy style pictures in decor, cloned from my favorite frame in
the game. I can't seem to get Electronics or Appliances to open for me. I
want to talk about the Build Mode real quick because the snowy effect is
working on some things, but, not on others. Snowy Tree #2 and Snowy Street
Tree look great, but the other snowy things did not come out with the same
nice effect. Also, if you've always wanted a white version of the door
frame, it's here for you!
Next, there is a house section with lots of different house styles for you
to choose from. I'm having problems getting some of those sections to open
up for me (maybe these aren't open areas yet). The houses that open for me
look well done and are nicely presented. I always like to see graphics that
are well presented on a site.
Alright, when I'm on some pages, I can't get skins or walls to open. On
other pages I can. I found a message that Walls and Floors are coming soon.
I finally found a page that let me open the Skins menu. Talking a quick
look around. Some nice club skins for an upcoming theme, and some of the
NPC HD characters for people that don't have HD, but might still like a Bar
Wench in their game.
Next, I am heading to the Themes Area. This, I am told at the top of the
page, is where all the action is. Looks like we have some areas that will
be added soon, and I really like the EGM Studios. Very nice. I like the
way it's presented, the story lines and such. I always like the little
personal touches.
Ok, I'll give this site a (3) and I look forward to seeing the Lost World
