Review: SimBurbia. |
Another site I am unfamiliar with…so again, this is going to be a first for me. Right away…although I would never use him in the game…I am loving Michael Myers – the BEST horror movie character there ever will be. I also like their Wamphyri skins (on the HOME page). Of course, I haven’t gone past the home page…but so far, so good. First click…Woman Skins. Not too impressed but not unimpressed either. Nothing fantastic about the skins but they are nicely done. Bonus – they do have Hot Date downloads which there are few of as of yet. Otherwise, nothing too unique (BUT that is hard in this day of SIMS mania) but again, nicely done skins. Onto the Male Skins – now these I like. They even have a kilted lad! And if Jake (page 2) were real…I’d be lusting after him…that is after I stopped being scared of him. Again, Hot Date downloads here. Very nice. Antonio is another very nice skin…can you tell I like my men tall, dark and with long hair??? I am LOVING the water floaties (check out Male Skins Page 1) – very original. Some of Biff’s wardrobe has frightened me…I may have nightmares but all and all the male skins very unique, very well done. Now for the THEMES…again, remember, I am not one for themes…so if I come down harsh I will apologize ahead of time. They have the obligatory Lara Croft Theme – not very original…this theme has been floating around since Day One of Sim Sites being around. I will say that I do like this head better than the others (thanks to Fionn’s mesh). Page is nicely laid out and I am downloading the first outfit (I am hoping the head comes with). So – so far, so good. Next they have Movie Maniacs…now I am a horror movie fanatic…I own close to 3000 movies, a lot of them – MOST of them – horror so even though I am not going to DL any of the items they have (most likely) this should be interesting. Michael Myers is, of course, on their homepage and they get an A+ for that skin. Lets see…they are offering Dracula (VERY GOOD SKIN – am downloading this one), Freddy (AMAZING JOB GUYS!!!), Jason (ANOTHER GREAT JOB…and in a swimsuit! Hehehe!), The Terminator (WOW!), Ash from "Evil Dead" (this is the only one I am not liking…sorry! Looks too normal!), and Michael Myers (AMAZING but no swimsuit!!!). A fantastic job has been done on this Movie Maniacs…again, I am only NOT downloading them because I like to have "normal" people in my game. If anyone has a storyline with them – send me the link, would love to see how others have used them in the game! Next we have Nightmare…have no idea what this is but if there is a clown…well, I won’t hold it against them! THANK GOODNESS…no clowns and VERY WELL DONE skins! I am not going to list them all here, because frankly their names are too long but well done. Bravo skinners!!! The last theme – at review time – is Vampires. Now I love Vampires as well…so, I am holding high expectations here. And sadly enough the only one I like so far is Sephinroth. SKINNERS ATTENTION PLEASE!!! NOT ALL VAMPIRES ARE PALE!!! Vampire or Goth skins that are this pale cause problems in the game because there is little wardrobe out there for them. PLEASE PLEASE MAKE MORE VAMPIRES WITH NORMAL SKIN TONES!!! That is my request. So basically, this site is pretty amazing. It doesn’t have much – and the Woman’s Skins are lacking but their Themes are amazing, as are there Male Skins. The site also has a forum, which is GREAT! I am loving the fact that sites are now adding forums. Makes it a lot easier if you have a problem with something you have downloaded from their site. All and all, I give this site a 3. I would give it a 4 and probably will on its next review but right now there isn’t enough on the site and I am sorry but the Woman Skins are pulling them down. My WORLDY SIM advice, ditch the women’s skins (I RARELY suggest this) and keep up with the others that you do so fantastically! (3)
