Review: Rachel’s Trinkets and Treasures. |
Rachel has stated this is her first attempt at a web site…and let me tell you, if she hadn’t have mentioned that I would NEVER have believed her. This site is beautifully done. Nice white background, gorgeous pink colors, and easy navigation…she could give lessons on how to make a SIMS site. She mainly offers objects on her site, although she does have some beautiful women’s clothing (trust me – I downloaded most of them!) to offer as well. The payload however, in my opinion, is when you hit the objects offered (vehicles, seating, decorative, lighting, surfaces, and electronics)…not ONLY are her items beautiful but original. Follow me now, to each area, as I point out some of the finer objects (they are ALL really good!!!)…and that means head over to her site (in another window) so you can enjoy the objects while I fill you in on them! OH – before I forget…I love all of her women’s skins but can I say – LOVE the purple pantsuit on Page 1 and it is just as stunning in the game. Okay – back to the objects. The first section she has listed is Vehicles. Now I will admit I don’t download vehicles for my game or at least I didn’t until I came across this site. The pink ’64 Thunderbird was just TOO good to PASS up. And my sister, who when she visits, only speaks to me for five seconds and heads to the SIMS game LOVED the dark red ’64 Thunderbird…so thanks to this site, I have numerous cars in my game. It does make my SIMS feel extra special…too bad Matrix hasn’t figured out a way to allow our SIMS to drive around the neighborhood yet, comparing cars and homes! But back to my point, Rachel has a wonderful selection of cars…from the Thunderbird to BMW M5’s, to a Mercedes C Class, a Ford Explorer, and even a hearse…my sister wants to thank her for her BEAUTIFUL Vintage Volkswagen Beetle and ’49 Cadillac Coupe. Just wonderfully done vehicles all around. Next is the seating section and I don’t even know where to begin. Lets just say that she has WONDERFULLY original seating. I don’t REALLY don’t know where to begin! They have an amazing lounge, some funky art deco chairs, and a reclining desk chair with an ottoman...JUST amazing seating. My favorites happen to be on page 3 – the black and white set at the bottom. Some of the chairs are unfortunately just decorations – but I downloaded them anyway, they are that good. The next area is decorative and let me tell you – this girl Rachel has an amazing sense of humor. Just read how she describes the objects. As for the shiny horse…my friend made me download it…because, it is SHINY! And very well done. She has a couple of wonderful carpets and a lovely Orrery. Again, all amazingly done. Onto the lighting section – I will admit I downloaded everyone of her lighting objects except for the first one, which she, herself, admits is awful – BUT HEY – it was your FIRST ATTEMPT!!! My personal favorites are the galaxy lamp and her green shade lamp. They are used often in my game. Moving into the surfaces section – IMMEDIATELY you will LOVE (at least I did) her silver and light blue tables (and there is nothing wrong with the four tiled table!). Just another great section. Last but not least we have the electronics section and, although I find these items unique I am not sure what they are suppose to look like…a magic 8 ball? I am talking about the Braun Retro TV and stereo. I have them in my game, my sister loves them (she is a black and white freak) but for the life of us we aren’t sure what they are suppose to be. Hmmm…oh well, they are beautiful no matter what! As for what is left at the site, a well-done link page with links to all your favorite sites and some non-related SIMS sites. All and all this site is simply wonderful – as I said, it is the site that made me realize how much I needed cars in my game! My advice – DO NOT CHANGE A THING! Again, perfection cannot be changed.
