Band's history The band was started in Suutaril, Finland 1994 when they decided to start a band to their schools chistmas celebration. First their name was Sputnik but it wasn't a good name and they didn't get any gigs. Then they changed the name to Anttila. Anttila performed only once. 1995 Teja Kotilainen found them from Oranssi club and suggested to record some songd. Teja became Rasmus manager. In December 1995 the cd 1st came out. The same year their first musicvideo Funky Jam came out. In 1996 janne came to play drums for Rasmus. Four big recordcompanys were interested in Rasmus. Their first choise was Warner. Their first album Peep came out and they played about a hundred gigs. In 1997 they made a sponsorship deal with Pepsi and got some awards. They played about a hundred gigs again, some of them in the summerfestivals. In August their second album Playboys came out. They Made a musicvideo to the song Playboys. In November 1998 their third album Hellofatester came out. Liquids musicvideo made it to the MTV Nordic Top5 and on the summer they made some festivalgigs. In November 2000 Aki came to play the drums after Janne left the band. At the same time they changed recordcompany and their name from Rasmus to The Rasmus. They made their fourth album in Stockholm. IN the fall of 2001 their manager Teja Kotilainen gave up being their manager. |
