    Terrain and Setup
The map should be divided into thirds. The central third should be randomly scattered with rough and wooded terrain, and the rest of the table should be clear grassland. Toss a coin to determine which side gets which clear area as a setup side. Each force may set up anywhere on their side no closer than 5 MU to the wooded central third of the map.

Units may be placed one by one, alternating sides, or they may be placed behind screens, as players prefer.

    Mission Briefing

In April, 1941, three dozen Wehrmacht staff officers and their aides gathered in Eastern France for a week-long tactical Kriegspiel(war game). More than three thousand men and three hundred combat vehicles were placed at their disposal. The purpose of the gathering was to evaluate the most efficient deployment methods for the new model Wehrmacht and its deadly technology.

The war games were given an unparalleled degree of accuracy due to the use of the Unsichtbarrewaffen,("invisible beam weapon"), a rugged system of infrared emitters and detectors that made it possible to simulate weapons fire in the field. These games would be stressful, intense encounters at actual combat speeds. The relatively genteel officer's games of the past were gone forever.

This scenario is Medium Mission Priority for both sides.

    Mission Objectives

Each side in the wargame is to approach, engage, and destroy the other. Forces are balanced, so superior tactics and situational perception will be required to win the day. A side will be declared defeated at the end of the round in which it has lost a total of 80% of its armored vehicles (thus, 8 out of 10).

    Variations

    A. New-Model Wehrmacht vs. The Old School
This encounter simulates a battle between a modern, walker-equipped mechanized force and a more old-fashioned mixed force.

    Red Force Order of Battle

  • 5 x PzKpf IV Aust B "Loki" Walker
  • 5 x PzKpfw III Ausf E Tank
  • 2 x SdKfz 231 (8-Rad) Armored Car
  • 3 x Wehrmacht Rifle Squad

    Blue Force Order of Battle

  • 5 x PzKpfw II Ausf B1 Tank
  • 5 x PzKpfw II Ausf D Tank
  • 5 x Wehrmacht Rifle Squad
  • 2 x Wehrmacht Machinegun Team
  • 1 x Pak 36 Anti-Tank Gun
  • 1 x Truck (to tow AT gun)

    B. Commander's Option
Each side may assemble a striking force with a total Threat Value of not more than 800. Only German vehicles available before or during 1941 are to be considered.

    Designer's Notes

So you've got too many German units sitting around waiting for a fight, and most of the other armies don't have miniatures available yet? Hey, no problem.
