Alice	[Cool. Want to simplify your confusing talk for Tris then a bit?]
The_Guild	You didn't really notice at first though, 'cause she disappeared when you did, and reappeared when you were around the corner. For all you know she'd left the room and returned when you weren't around. :) [I'll simplify it for everybody.]

The_Guild	[Yes.]
Alice	~Thinkers: The training rooms use psychic or physical simulations?~
The_Guild	~A combination of both.~
Alice	~Natilla: The room is creating images in my head. Try and relax and don't fight it for now. Pretend what you are seeing is real~

Alice	[Emotionally how is she doing?] [Oh and do I know what I should be doing in the black?]

Alice	[btw, the rubbing her neck is a physical manifestation of her trying to relax and comfort Natilla-Vv. That is where a lot of the veins go.] I concentrate of orienting to Do-N
The_Guild	[I figured as much. :)]
Alice	[Orientation not working?]
The_Guild	[Nope.]
Alice	[Okay, I relax and start experimenting.]
The_Guild	[Experimenting with what?]
Alice	[Different ways of controlling myself, mentally, simulating muscle movement, willing myself to locations, etc.] [Okay I shift over to creating the ball of light. Imagining, focusing force on that location etc.]
The_Guild	You find a lot of it fails, though there is one point, where you suddenly feel a 'click' of rightness and you vanish briefly, appearing closer to Do-N. You feel as though you are trying very hard... but it fails.
Alice	I try and relax and see if that helps. Focus willpower and then create. Again relax and focus.
The_Guild	It takes you several minutes and several attempts at clearing your mind, but the window eventually appears.
Alice	[Can I feel why I am having problems? ]
The_Guild	[It's almost as if you're too smart for your own good. Every time you try to clear your mind, it fills with facts and figures, analysing what is happening, predicting what will happen next.]
Alice	~Natilla-Vv. Can you help me clear my mind and relax?~
The_Guild	~Alicenest want Natila-Vv help clear mind?~
Alice	*Tense* ~Not the memories. Just help me relax.~
The_Guild	~Like this?~ A feeling of dreamy euphoria sweeps over you, and you suddenly feel your mind drifting.
Alice	~I don't think so. Can you feel me trying to focus on a taks but other thoughts keep getting in the way? I need to stop those other thoughts from butting in. Any suggestions?~
The_Guild	~That be for you to do, Natila-Vv not stop Alicenest from thinking.~ The blackness beyond the window parts, revealing from on high a wide green vista cut through by several rivers flowing toward the edges of the circle, and a mountain range in the upper right hand corner.
Alice	~Okay. Just wanted to see. Thanks luv.~
The_Guild	~Prrr....~
Alice	I start exploring. ~Looking for cities, people, things like that.~ [no ~~ around that last statement]
The_Guild	Now that the picture is there, it seems easier since you have something to focus on. You find several cities, the ones along the circular coast are populated by some sort of human, and there are several in the central forests populated by pointy-eared elves. You also find a small village tucked away in the mountains, of short, stocky dwarves.
Alice	Okay, standard analysis. Social structure, resources, technology, politics, language. Anythings I can absorb and catalogue.
The_Guild	There seems to be only a single dominant ruler in the human society, and the same with the elves. Technology is an odd thing, there are a lot of gadgets that people are using that don't seem like they should logically work, but they do - cumbersome motorized carriages, floating carriers, autowriting pens, lights that have no discernable source. The elves don't have as many gadgety things, but are obviously a magical race. Bridges and houses defy gravity whilst hanging in their trees, and sparkling light and unearthly music permeates the forests.
Alice	Technological magic for the humans then?
The_Guild	It would seem so. Closer examination reveals that most of the technological magic contains at least a shard of some pale blue crystalline substance.
Alice	Okay, tracing that. Origins, use, problems etc? ~Natilla-Vv. Do-N says you are very smart for warning me before you cleared by mind. I agree with her.~
The_Guild	~It made Natila-Vv strange to think that Alicenest would want Natila-Vv to do that.~ Decorative, nothing more.
Alice	Can I split the window and get multiple feeds? ~It was very well caught. Always confirm with me if I ask you to take memories for me.~ [Sorry, that was to Natilla-Vv.]
The_Guild	~Natila-Vv don't know.~
Alice	Oh wait. The multiple feeds was me testing whether I could do it. Okay, I generate a summary of what I have seen and worked out in my mind and then ask Natilla-Vv if she can establish a connection with the others and give them this information.
The_Guild	After an initial distraction, you suddenly grasp the concept of creating windows, and a couple more pop up around you.
Alice	Can I determine the chemical composition of Manite from the windows? Do they have other sensors?
The_Guild	Manite has no chemical composition. A brief study of it reveals that it's roots reach into a much more basic ruleset. In effect it is a physical manifestation of magical potential.
Alice	Okay, from my sketchy knowledge of magic, how useful would it be to the guild?
The_Guild	You think it could be quite useful. The uses that you see displayed here seem quite impressive.
Alice	How about circumventing and generating Manite ourselves without this dimension?
The_Guild	Who are you asking?
Alice	Is it really worth the guilds time to extract the material or can they simply work out the generation process and do it themselves?
The_Guild	Generally, extraction is an easier way, since there is usually only a finite amount of energy in a single dimension, so making Manite would still be taking energy out of some other system in their own dimension.
Alice	Okay I start hunting for who really controls the Manite mining in the dwarven kingdoms. Government or business. Is it hierarchical? Looking for people we could control or replace to get the goods.
The_Guild	There is a dwarven King, and his senate of advisors. Each of them have specific tasks in the kingdom, most having to do with metallurgy or mining. Each branch of the Senate seems to work as a sort of umbrella corporation.
