Alice	Okay, things I need to do. Get my drugs habit cleaned up, get my bio-enhancements, get my training in martial arts etc, then look into feeing Natilla-Vv
The_Guild	Did you want to kick your habit entirely?
Alice	Feeding rather. She doesn't pay fees Or even rent!
The_Guild	Pretty sweet deal she's got going. :)
Alice	No, just end the addiction. The drug was originally created to be minimally addictive but she is a long time heavy user.
The_Guild	That would be kicking the habit. :)
Alice	Well she would like to still be able to use the drug ideally. If not it isn't a huge loss.
The_Guild	Kicking a habit only involves cleaning your system of it's addictive effects. You can always go back afterwards.
Alice	Sure then. If they could implant blocks to prevent future addiction that would be nice but not necessary. She could always use the drugs available around here but I don't think she is going to use much in the way of drugs. She worries about addicting Natilla-Vv
The_Guild	Did you want to make an appointment with a medical Shargat, or simply drop by the infirmary?
Alice	I'll make an appointment. I don't want to be a bother and it isn't urgent. I shouldn't need another hit for a couple of days. Oh, Alice would also like to look into what is available in the way of rejuvination/immortality treatments. She'll research them through the thinkers.
The_Guild	An appointment is made with Hlemstr Igaru, a couple hours from now. It gives you a bit of time to ponder the rejuvenation and immortality treatments. Generally they are available, and widely used by people who do not have any moral qualms with them.
Alice	Alice is very concerned about aging. Moral qualms? Am I drinking virgins blood?
The_Guild	There are basic technological preventions, biogenic technologies, and then through the use of sustained magic and psychic powers.
Alice	Okay, Alice has very little in the way of moral qualms about this so she is looking for a great deal of effective lifespan without too much in the way of drawbacks.
The_Guild	There is a portion of the population that objects to the extension of life, as it is deemed 'unnatural' or 'unfair.' Living in a dimension that automatically adjusts itself to suit the desires of it's inhabitants seems to take the air out of most arguments.
Alice	Immortality, like ressurrection, is only attainable through the intervention of a major diety?
The_Guild	Not necessarily. There is research into Divinity Filters which would, in theory, allow a being to exist indefinitely. It seems the main concern is the interconnection between Soul, Spirit and Awareness... spirit eventually diminishes, and when it is gone, soul and awareness part ways: the soul returning to it's origin, and the awareness drifting until it becomes some new thing.
Alice	Okay. Alice will go ahead with stand rejunivation techniques for now but add Divinity research to her infomation intake. When is my bio-enhancement appointment?
The_Guild	In about an hour. Oh, your bio-enhancement.... Hmm. I think it was sometime tomorrow (being later today, now.)
Alice	Okay, Alice is going to indulge in some guilty pleasure and have fun for an hour or so playing with Natilla-Vv and telekinesis in a training room. Alice gets a lot of joy playing around with Telekinesis. She'll make sure she isn't late for her appointment though.
The_Guild	Sure thing. Did you want to work telekinetic dexterity, strength, or both?
Alice	Neither really. Alice is just enjoying the power really. I guess it would be dexterity really but more like dance crossed with telekinesis. Being non-magical, telekinesis is totally amazing to her and so really she just wants to have a chance to play around with it.
The_Guild	And play she does. :) The training room recommends a wigglyworm, which turns out to be a squirmy little thing that tests your ability to grab an evasive target. Alice	Okay, Alice creates a few objects to warm up and then plays with that for a bit.
The_Guild	Done. You spend an enjoyable hour playing telekinetic tennis. :)
Alice	Okay, Alice heads off to her appointment with a smile on her face and a bounce in her step.
The_Guild	You shiver slightly as you pass beneath the marble archway and into the infirmary. There is only one door open in the hallway beyond.
Alice	Okay, I head for Hlmester. Or is there a waiting room?
The_Guild	Nope. Only the one open door. You assume it's your room.
Alice	Okay, I head in and take a look.
The_Guild	The room is empty for a moment, but a few seconds later, the Shargat Igaru is standing behind you, carefully closing the door behind her. "Miss Whitehouse, hi! Good to see you again, how have your first few days at Shar Torin been?"
Alice	"Good actually and very interesting. Thanks for asking."
The_Guild	"My pleasure! I'm glad you're having a good time. Now, you mentioned you wanted to get rid of your addiction?"
Alice	"Yes please. "
The_Guild	"Sure thing. If you could lie down for me please?"
Alice climbs onto the bed and lies down.
The_Guild	"Thank you." Hlemstr starts at your feet and moves to your head, her hand hovering about a foot above you. Then she circles around the little bed and goes from head to foot. As she reaches your feet, you feel incredibly refreshed, better and more at ease than you have in, who knows, years. "There you go, rebalanced. You can stay for a bit if you'd like, don't get up too quickly you might get a headrush."
Alice	~Natilla-Vv, I am going to have some medical procedures done on me. Try and relax. She isn't trying to hurt us.~
The_Guild	~Natilla-Vv know, Hlemstrfood is happytalking.~
Alice smiles at Hlemstr.
The_Guild	Hlemstr smiles back tentatively. "Your symbiote is cute. Very friendly."
Alice	"Yes, I am very fond of her."
The_Guild	"Is it alright if I feed her? I gave her a scrap when I was cleaning you up, but it wasn't much."
Alice	"Memories? No that is fine." ~Are you getting hungry again Natilla-Vv?~
The_Guild	Your own stomach rumbles in response, coupled with ~a hazy memory of a delighted little girl's laughter.~ "Was there anything else I could help you with today, Miss Whitehouse?"
Alice	~We'll look into finding you some more soon.~ "Yes actually. I'd like to start some rejuvination treatments. I'd like you opinion on what to use. I'm not overyly concerned with looking younger, I am mostly concerned with lifespan and not look much older."
The_Guild	"Are you planning to get any other physical enhancement done? Sometimes different techniques can conflict or create side effects which are otherwise preventable or avoidable."
Alice	"Yes actually. I am scheduled for a few enhancements tomorrow." I give her the descriptions of my enhancements. "Appart from that I would prefer treatments which don't limit my future capabilities but I understand that sacrifices must be made. "Also I will be using a temporal flux device regularly."
The_Guild	"Hmm. Well, there are several choices, mainly differing in frequency of application and term effectiveness. How long did you want to live?"
Alice	"What are the lifespans I am looking at?"
The_Guild	"In your case you could add hundreds, possibly thousands. There is an outer limit and the longer lifespans generally require more intensive spirit surgery in the latter stages."
Alice 's eyes unfocus as she enters deep thought for a few seconds. "I would like the treatment with the maximum lifespan which doesn't generate complications. The frequency of treatments must of course be limited by my travelling but while here I am willing to work hard at staying alive."
The_Guild	"I would recommend a biogenic save/restore program. It would involve a week-long appointment every year or so, but each time you would return to, essentially, the physical state you are in when you begin the program. As you age you will eventually need spirit surgery to actually extend your lifespan, but for now that will keep you in filo tilo shape."
Alice	"Can the procedure avoid affective Natilla-Vv?"
The_Guild	"It could, but then Natilla-Vv would age while you would not, and I believe she would eventually die." "Oh, um... could you come with me for a moment?" Hlemstr nervously goes to the door.
Alice looks up curiously and follows
The_Guild	Hlemstr opens the door and steps out into the hall, where a dark young man in a black-piped grey Shargat tunic is standing.... with Lopez.
Alice	"Hello Lopez. So what is up?"
The_Guild	"Mr. Gordon! Good to see you again!" Hlemstr seems nervous but genuinely pleased to see Lopez.
Alice	Reading body language. Is Hlemstr interested in Lopez?
The_Guild	The Shargat simply nods to Hlemstr and steps into the room, motioning for Lopez to follow.
Alice	I follow.
The_Guild	Lopez responds, "Ummmm Nothing....something....I don't know" No more interested than she is in you, it seems. You've noticed that Shargat are incredibly adept at masking body language. Lopez says, "perhaps later...right now I must go"
Alice	Alice is keeping quiet, trying to work out why she is here.
The_Guild	From Lopez: ~I'll explain later...I hope~
Alice	~ *shrug* Okay. ~
The_Guild	Lopez steps into the room and the Shargat closes the door behind him.
Alice	~To Hlemstr, So what is up here then?
The_Guild	Hlemstr looks at you, still a little nervous. "We can go to the end of the hall, there's a general room there that we can sit in."
Alice	"Sure"
The_Guild	~That was Voga, he's one of the security Overseers. I don't know what Mr. Gordon did, or what he got into, but I hope he's not in trouble.~
Alice shoots an angry look back in that direction "Damn. I don't need this sort of trouble. What sort of things might cause this?"
The_Guild	The room is large, separated into various compartments by curtains on rods - some open, some closed. Hlemstr steps into the nearest cubicle and closes the curtains. "He wouldn't be in the infirmary if he were the cause of the trouble. Something probably happened to him that he had to be quarantined briefly."
Alice	"Like contact with something unusual?" Did I notice anything odd about Lopez?
The_Guild	"Maybe. But Voga is a security Overseer, so it would have had to be something... something against the TDC brought to Shar Torin, maybe?" Nope. He seemed fairly unruffled. Something happened, but it doesn't seem as huge a deal to him.
Alice	"Well he's a cyborg but any tech on him would be unlikely to cause this sort of problem. I assume communications with him are blocked?"
The_Guild	"Once the Overseer closed the door, yes."
Alice casts her mind back. Anything else spring to mind?
The_Guild	Not that you can recall, no. The whole encounter was too brief to get a full picture of it.
Alice	"Well I can't think of anything that might cause it. I'll interrogate him later and find out what is going on."
The_Guild	"It's probably nothing, really. There have been a rash of pranks funneling through the newest Shargat trainees..." She trails off, leaving the conclusion there for the interpretation.
Alice wrinkles her nose. "Like what?"

The_Guild	"False visions, visitations, bumps in the night... poltergeist sightings that annoy security because they sometimes show up on sweeps as contrary incursions."
Alice	"Would that call out a security overseer?"
The_Guild	"In a place so delicately balanced as Shar Torin, any sort of imbalance can have terrific results. I guess they can't be too careful when they find something."
Alice	"Makes sense. Good to know actually. Last thing I want is to piss of security."
The_Guild	"You won't have to worry about that. The Thinkers prevent that sort of nonsense from most people, but Shargat... know a few tricks to get around the Thinkers. Usually we're better behaved, but there are always a few trainees who like to play with their new toys before they know how to use them properly.
Alice	"Good to hear. I want to run the straight and narrow here. I worry about what they might do about Natilla-Vv if things went foul."
The_Guild	"As long as you're trying to follow the rules, you'll do fine. And Natilla-Vv would be in good hands if anything should happen. Temond, Bidde and Adder are a superb team."
Alice smiles weakly. "Thanks. Am I all done here then?"
The_Guild	"Unless you had any more questions, you're free to go." "Did you want to go for coffee sometime? Maybe?"
Alice hesitates for a second and looks a bit surprised. "Sure, it sounds like fun."
The_Guild	Hlemstr smiles. "That's great! Okay! I'll let you know tomorrow when I'm free!"
Alice	"Okay then. Ciao."
The_Guild	"Bye bye!"
