The_Guild	So what did you want to do after leaving Alice?
Lopez	See if the Thinker Database has anything on Technological Detection of the Void Minions there of etc. preferably something that can be integrated with existing systems
The_Guild	There isn't anything in particular that defines a Void minion, it seems. There are ways to tell if someone is susceptible to other-dimensional invasion (a few integratable systems, but most of them rely on sub-magics and dimensional structural ruleset modifications. Detecting Void works along those lines as well. usually by the time technological equipment detects the Void, the Void has consumed the equipment.
Lopez	ahhh so nothing that I can use with my exsiting sensors
The_Guild	Not directly, no. You could piece together things, but it's mostly through behavioural observation.
Lopez	Ok that's what I was looking for...otherwise I'm just looking up standard Traveller procedures...case logs that sort of thing
The_Guild	Sure thing. There are hundreds of them, and you could spend a considerable amount of time going over them.
Lopez	Trying to get an Idea for what my job would consist of...that sort of thing. doign this while walking..I've gotten very good at HUD reading and walking
The_Guild	A lot of Traveller logs are detailed descriptions of new and wonderful dimensions... at least at first. You quickly see that there are patterns and categories that dimensions fall into, and after a while they seem to blend into one another. Most, of course, stand out for one or two particular details, but on the whole many seem to fall into a select number of categories.
Lopez	Which are?

The_Guild	Also, look under Travellers for the Traveller states. Exploration happens while Black. A Grey Traveller interacts with the world on it's own level, without revealing other-dimensional powers or origins. White Travellers are given a green card to defend the dimension against otherdimensional threats, such as Void.
Lopez	What am I classified as or most likley to be classified as?
The_Guild	You are a Traveller, and as such could be classified as any. You would begin as Black as you first explore, move to Grey if there is hospitable life to interact with, and possibly go White if the dimension is threatened by something it can't handle itself.
Lopez	What are rules for self-defense and such?
The_Guild	Self-defense against what?
Lopez	Threats on both a local dimensional and and extra-Dimensional Nature
The_Guild	When Black you would be essentially removed from the dimension, acting only in an observer mode in which it would be almost impossible to interact in any way. As a Grey Traveller you would have to defend yourself using local dimensional tactics, preferably non-lethal. Against extra-dimensional the rules are a litle looser. In general, as long as locals don't see you using extra-dimensional powers, you can do as you like.
Lopez	So that's realativly easy for me...since most of my abilities are internal...unless they look beaneath the skin :) I continue to read and research the guild for the rest of the evening

Lopez	Keep the files on hand for reference. so I can come back to them when I need them...then just grab a book at random for the database and read the night away
The_Guild	Alice from an Earthlike dimension, mid-level tech, no psionics or magic. Egistero from a Clowal dimension, magic and technology but no psionics, Utyo Ogisawa from a very primitive society, low tech, but shamanistic magic and natural psychic powers. Do-N a pre-travelled shapeshifter, Cluhan from another earthlike dimension, high tech with a history of psi and magic, Emissary Kol Mnba of Fvarus, and two Shargat Ops. Sure thing. ~Early the next morning, you receive a message directing you to Conference AD-14 for your Traveller Orientation with Kol Mnba.~
Lopez	I get up and head to AD-14
The_Guild	You are one of the first to arrive. Already present are two people in grey tunics and a large draconian character in a lime green suit. The people in grey are a short, elfin female of the blonde persuasion, and a sullen grey-skinned, dead eyed chap with no hair.
Lopez	I nod to them and go to an empty chair near them
The_Guild	The lizard-faced man with wings would be Kol Mnba, the Emissary. The other two would be Otsilliw Widerovist and Idswit Nalm, respectively. In order, the others come in: Egistero Gamley, a red haired, big smiled young man wearing brightly colored robes, Cluhan Callahan, a large man wearing a sort of uniform and carrying some sort of heavy sidearm, Alice Whitehouse, who you know, Utyo Ogisawa, a small, thin young woman wearing leathers and carrying a small arsenal of steel.

Lopez	I don't I think it should be a commonality with the Orders comming down from on hihg errr high

The_Guild	Shargat exist in a balance that, depending on origins and current projects, may be easily unbalanced.

Lopez	Don't really care Drug use in my world was very legalized and most chemical dependancies could be gotten rid of quite easily
