Bedenite Dust. The nanites of the psionicist.

Nothing rules the entire universe. In order to rule the entire universe, you must become nothing. You may rule a part, you may rule most, but you may not rule the entire universe, for only Nothing can rule the entire universe, and to become Nothing is almost impossible.

Almost.

Control is gained through mastery, not over people or matter or energy, but over Nothing. Think of the power you wield, being able to turn something, anything... into nothing. To take the infinitesimally small yet comparatively large spaces of nothingness separating a person's atoms and... making that Nothing bigger. Or smaller. Shrink the vast expanses of nothing between stars to increase the speed of travel or cause apocalyptic cataclysms. Insure that your enemy can never reach you.

There is Nothing all around us. Like untrained drivers we focus on what fills the space, rather than finding the gaps between things. We strive to prevent collision, rather than encourage evasion. Our world is surrounded by material goods, things which take up space, when space itself is what is truly valuable.
