12 Angry Men

Here is a funny backstage anecdote.  In 12 Angry Men, which I performed in at Cocoa High, the actor that played the foreman, Freddie Furman, handcuffed my hands together before the show on opening night.  Then he said that he didn't have the keys to the handcuffs.  Everybody was worried before the show.  We were all trying to find a way to get me out of the handcuffs.  David, who played juror #10, pulled out a set of many handcuff keys of all different sizes, but they were all too big.  I was handcuffed right up until just before the Director, Mr. Petrolia, came for circle about ten minutes before the show.  Freddie did have the key.  It was just a silly prank, but it had us all worried because we didn't know what we would do if we couldn't get them off!
I don't think that people should play pranks before or during a show because so much is on the line.  Jerry Jobe played a prank during Lost In Yonkers in which he put soda in someone's drink on stage, and soda isnt good for ones voice.  She was supposed to do a voice in which she starts her sentences on the breath out, but finishes them on the breath in, but because of the soda she couldn't do it.  Pranks have no place backstage or onstage during or before a show.
