| Starfleet Career: | The son of independent freight haulers, Ambrose Emerson grew up aboard freighters working along the outer systems of Fedration territory. Bored with the life of a cargo hauler, Emerson left for Starfleet Acadmey at the age of seventeen. On a training mission when Earth was attacked by the Dur'Lar, his first assignment as an Ensign was a helmsman for the USS Byzantium. Frustrated with assignment to a cargo ship, Emerson waited nearly eighteen months before being transferreed to Taskforce Argo, under Admiral Jada Marksman, along with the resultant promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Performing duties aboard various vessels, Emerson was the only officer to act as commanding officer aboard the Defiant-class USS MacBeth when the ship was used to carry a Marine expeditionary contingent to freee several hostages from Paradise City when that colony was taken by force by the Dur'Lar. While the other ships of the Taskforce fought a Dur'Lar armada in orbit, Acting Captain Emerson adn Ensign Gary Garber commanded the Marine Forcer on the planet, fighting off repeated Dur'Lar assaults and eventually freeing all the hostages alive. The action was not without its price, however: the force suffered over eighty percent casualties, and Emerson hmself was severely wounded. | |
| Medical History: | All of Captain Emerson's medical records from before his entrance into Starfleet Academy have been lost, though there is some evidence of physical trauma. Since then, he has only required serious medical care on one occasion, resulting from a near phaser blast of a Dur'Lar weapon. | |
