New Faces…New Changes

How would you feel if you came into a high school as a new face? This year at Madison we have a lot of new staff, about 17. It really isn't the easiest thing to be new and in charge of so many students in a big place like Madison!
Especially this year, it's a lot different because of the construction and all the new things that are going on. It must have been hard for new teachers to get adjusted to Madison and it's students. But of course, everyone including students and teachers gave them a nice welcome.
People coming into a new place might feel nervous at first because they're afraid of what they're going to face, and the new people they'll meet. Some of the new staff at our school felt excited about coming to Madison but also very nervous about the new change.
Ms. Nguyen said, "I feel excited because I get to start a new job and anxious to start doing great things for Madison students but also very nervous because this is all new to me."
It is different here at Madison for some new teachers who were at an elementary school before like Mr. Howe. But what would you have to say if you come to Madison High School after teaching at a very small rural school in Indiana where they only had 180 students in the entire high school like Mr. Hahn,"It was obviously very different from Madison." he said.
Most of our new staff thinks Madison is great and unique in it's own different way. Some of them like the diversity and the different cultures, while others like the open campus and the students' outgoing personality. We are glad that most of our new staff is happy to be at Madison and feels welcome in their new job and we hope they like it here.
