“Once Upon a time in Mexico”, also known as “Desperado 2”, is an action packed film. It is full of awesome fight sequences and great special effects. The cast stars some of the greatest names in Hollywood: Johnny Depp (Blow), Antonio Banderas (Interview with the Vampire), Salma Hayek (Traffic), and Willem Dafoe (American Psycho).
For those of you that did not see “El Mariachi” or “Desperado”, General Marquez kills El Mariachi’s wife and daughter. So El Mariachi feels he has a score to settle. El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) isolates himself because of the loss of his wife (Salma Hayek) and daughter. He is pushed out of seclusion by a corrupt CIA agent named Sands (Johnny Depp). Sands hires him to make sure that the evil drug lord Barillo (Willem Dafoe) does not go through with his plans to kill the president of Mexico. But El Mariachi has his own reasons for taking this assignment, revenge for the life of his wife and daughter.
The whole cast did an awesome job. There was extreme violence, and the special effects might be disturbing to some, but very awesome. I give this movie a 10/10. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I highly suggest you do.
