School dances go way back. For years people have dressed up, found a date and mingled with their classmates. But why do people like them so much? Is it hanging out with friends? Is it getting dressed up? We asked a couple people why they like school dances. Aubrey Huelsman, a senior at Madison High School, had this to say, “I go to school dances for social purposes and to get all pretty.”
“The music is always lame, but it’s fun to get dressed up,” said Mandy Mohrlock, also a senior at Madison High School. Lots of people go just to get all dressed up. Some people said that school dances are one big fashion show. Everyone always has a hard time deciding what to wear and they all want to look better then everyone else. One of the first things you do when you see your friends at a dance, besides say hi, is complement what they are wearing. Everyone does it. It’s usually one of the first things that come to mind.
Then there are people that just go to have a good time with their friends. And that’s always fun. Basically, school dances provide a great place to hang out with your friends and dance the night away, for those of you that dance. After all, that’s what they are for, right? So go and have fun while you can because you can never get another chance once it’s gone.
