About Theta Tau
"The Purpose of Tau Beta Sigma is to support college and university bands by
providing service, by participation, by developing leadership, and by
encouraging the advancement of women in the band profession."
The Theta Tau Chapter, founded August 9, 1998 is getting off to a great start.
It took the colony 49 strenuous weeks to establish Tau Beta Sigma. Our founding
mothers sought out the opportunity to bring the sisterhood to McNeese State
University and we feel the importance of upholding their traditions and beliefs.
The Theta Tau Chapter is the 211th to be added to Tau Beta Sigma. Our big
sister chapter is the Tau chapter from the University of Houston. They were
very helpful in getting our chapter started and we appreciate every one of them
for their dedication. Our brothers of Iota Upsilon of Kappa Kappa Psi at
McNeese State University were also a great asset to our colonization. TheTau
chapter is very grateful to have such wonderful supporters.
We hope that as our chapter progresses with the Pride of McNeese Marching Band
that we will have interesting ideas and great stories to include to this page.
Theta Tau along with Kappa Kappa Psi is mostly responsible for assisting the
marching band during the fall semester. We set up the equipment for the daily
rehearsal, load and unload the trucks, get the water and drinks out to the band
during the games, along with various service activities. We are also
responsible for the wind ensemble reception held every semester.
