How to make Windows truncate long filenames better :
Under HKEY_LOCAN_MACHINE\ System\ CurrentControlSet\ control\ FileSystem
create a binary value named NameNumericTail and set it to 0 (zero).
The tildes and numbers of long filenames are no longer displayed.
It will only start adding numbers if you have more than one shortname
with the same result. |
