THETHE
HIGH SCHOOL

PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
In a
quest for a better quality of life, Thethe High School Alumni deemed it
necessary to improve the quality of matric results for the school. Project
“Better-than-the-Best” will offer Saturday Schools, Winter Schools, Pre-exam
revision Sessions as well as Motivational Talks to Grade 12 learners at Thethe
High School and will be based in the premises of school. The project will be
different in that it combines education and fun, includes motivational sessions
with popular individuals and most importantly is led by the school alumni who
are already making big strides in their chosen careers. This is a challenge to
all of us, especially those whose past privileges have afforded them skills that
are in high demand in public service. This serves as a call for all to volunteer
their skills to help improve the lot of the nation.
BACKGROUND
INFORMATION
Matric
results for Thethe High School have been satisfactory ever since its inception
in 1987. The first matric examinations for the school were written in 1989 and
results achieved were relatively good. It has become a standard that the school
achieve good results. Given the degrees of comparisons there is a bigger room
for improvement though. Remember good, better and best. We want the matric
results of Thethe High School to be better than best. We want to see learners
from the school invited by the Minister of Education as guests of honour due to
their excellent achievements.
As
the school’s alumni and those who have managed to acquire knowledge and skills
in various spheres of society, we have accepted the challenge to volunteer
skills to migrate Thethe’s matric results from good to neither better nor best
but to GREAT.

LIMITATIONS
While
we set high standards, we expect learners and teachers to put an extra effort at
their own time to achieve the set objectives. We will try everything possible in
our power to get all learners involved but this is a voluntary project,
therefore achieving our objectives is not always guaranteed. But certainly
learners who get involved will bear the fruits.
