    MIMICRY (Cha)
You can mimic voices, foreign or regional language accents, and animal and bird noises.
Check: The DM makes the Mimicry check so that you don't necessarily know whether you've succeeded, though the effectiveness of the attempt is usually immediately apparent from the reactions of others. The effectiveness of voice or accent mimicry depends in part on how your appearance matches the voice:

    AppearanceModifier
    Appropriately disguised using magic+4
    Appropriately disguised using Disguise skill+2
    Appearance in line with voice+2
    Appearance at odds with voice-2

Retry: A character may try to redo a failed mimicry, but once others know that a mimicry was attempted they'll be more suspicious.
Special: Magic that alters the recipient's form, such as alter self, change self, polymorph other, or shapechange, grants the individual a +4 bonus to his Mimicry check (see individual spell descriptions in Chapter 11: Spells).

    OBSERVATION (Wis)
Use this skill to notice things in the distance, have your eye caught by something of interest in a market, or take in all the details of a watched target.
Check: Make an Observation check against a DC that reflects how noticable or observant you are. The DM may make the Observation check so that you don't know whether or not there was something to see, or whether you noticed anything at all.
Observation is not the same as the Spot skill - Observation is relevant to noticing details of something or someone, nearby or far away, or memorising things of note, and not for spotting hidden individuals.

    DCObserve
10Note some details of a observed nearby target
15Memorise all the details of a observed nearby target
    20Notice distant figures or movement
20Notice an item of interest on a market stall
+5Watched-for-details target observation lasts less than a round

Retry: You can make an Observation check every time you have a chance to notice something in a reactive manner. As a full round action you may try to observe something you failed to notice previously.
Special: When several characters are observing the same thing, the DM can make a single 1d20 roll and use it for all the observer's skill checks.
The subject of a hypnotism spell, bard's fascinate ability, or similar attention-grabbing effect, cannot benefit from this skill.
A character with the Alertness feat gets a +2 synergy bonus on Observation checks.
Elves, gnomes, and halflings have a +2 racial bonus on Observation checks thanks to their keen eyes.
Half-elves have a +1 racial bonus on Observation checks. Their eyesight is good because of their elven heritage, but not as keen as that of a full elf.
