From Glenda Kleppin, May 1998

Observing their 55th wedding anniversary Monday, the day after Christmas, are Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Armstrong of 807 Fairview street. The Armstrongs will celebrate their anniversary quietly, with a dinner at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Glen Kleppin and family of Rapid City.

Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong came to Rapid City about 3 1-2 years ago. Before moving here they had lived for 51 years at Steele, N.D. Born in Dakota Territory, at Vermillion, Armstrong later moved to Iowa where he met his wife. They moved to North Dakota shortly thereafter where Armstrong was a policeman. He retired just before moving to Rapid City.

Besides Mrs. Kleppin, who has two children, Jack and Glenda Lee, the Armstrongs have one other daughter, Mrs. S. W. Kidd of Mandan, N. D. They also have seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
