It was raining when we got to the Wupatki National Monument . . . 
And we were seriously low on gas because Daddy refused to pay those high gas prices at Grand Canyon.  We hoped, desperately, that we wouldn't get stuck in the middle of the desert.
The Wupatki National Monument honors the memory of an advanced tribe of Indians.  This is all that remains of a large city built in prehistory.
In the picture on the right, you can see just how large the city actually was.
This model of a hogan appeared in the museum.  It's a lot like the one Freddy had to make as a project in school.
