MOAB, UTAH

A lot of people don't know that Utah has some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States.  After we crossed the border from Colorado, we headed southwest on U.S. Highway 191, basically following the Colorado River on the way to the Grand Canyon.
We saw a lot of these on the roads.  They're called cow-catchers and they are set up to prevent cattle from straying.
There were so many interesting rock formations that we had to get something for Mommy's collection.
Mommy really wanted to stay at a campgound in the Mountains.  This was about as close as we got.  It was a nice little place, in walking distance of the town.
Once, when the road turned to dirt, we started to get nervous, but the road let to many interesting sites.
Once such place was a mesa with an incredible view.  If you'll click on the picture, you can see the panorama I tried to form.  It still needs work, but take a look at it, if you like.
One of the neatest places we saw in Utah was Natural Bridges National Park, where we climbed several miles down to one of the stone bridges.  It was really fun.  Click on the picture to join us in the adventure.
Another place we saw, one that Mommy really liked, was a place where an artist had carved a fourteen room home out of the side of a rock.  Click on the picture to see it with us.
A place that Daddy thought was the most beautiful spot in America is called the Mokee Dugway, which leads to the Painted Desert and Monument Valley, in Arizona.  Clicking on this picture will show you some pictures of which Daddy is very proud.
