A site which I am sure will interest anyone like myself who likes to phone home, until I get the bill is http://ld.net/n2p/rates.cgi?pokey I have just signed up with them and, via my internet connection, I can now call any UK phone for 13 US cents per minute. Sorry if this sounds like an ad, but I am very impressed.

Fourth generation (1/4 Brit now, rest German). Great-grandfather William Hill (there's a rare name! ) emigrated to US ca. 1850, following his brother George, from Lincolnshire. I've visited England many times, starting as a freshman in college and continuing with business and vacation trips. Question: what's the great fascination with Marmite? :-)

Looking for British friends on email....... Fun, chat, exchange & share memories. Great small group has outings here in Bay Area. If interested in joining us as we visit English Pubs, restaurants, plays, picnics, just send me a note. All welcome: Married, Single, Engaged, Men, Women, children, all ages. As an example, we all just ate at the Englander, a new British Restaurant in San Leandro, CA. it was a great meeting. No dues or subscriptions, no agenda. We just shared our memories and chatted and ate and drank and remembered the "good 'ole days" in olly ole England.

Chloe from the ITN interactive page gave me your site address, and it looks so interesting. Really liked the diary on becoming a US citizen. Having spent the past two years fruitlessly trying to unravel the mess surrounding the immigration of our younges daughter (caused initially by the US Embassy in London), I dread having to undergo the naturalization process. Indeed do I want to become a part of a race for whom I have dwindling respect?
