Nordenfeldt Machine Gun

The Nordenfeldt Machine Gun, or organ gun, was a hand-cranked weapon in which the barrels were laid beside each other, resulting in the rounds being fired in ripples. The gun was manufactured in a variety of calibres, and with varying numbers of barrels. Although adopted by the British armed forces, the weapon had only a short career, being quickly replaced by more modern machine guns. At the turn of the century Fort Lytton had two Nordenfeldt Machine Guns similar to this one: a 4 barrel 1 in; and a 10 barrel 0.45 in.
