Here is a bit about me and my family

I was born in New Orleans in 1923, and spent 10Haitian Art years in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where my father was a superintendant of a sugar refinery.   This is where I attended elementary school.

On returning to the US, I attended Military School in Illinois and graduated in 1941.  Shortly after Pearl Harbour, I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and did two tours of duty in the South Pacific.  1942 - The Solomon Islands, Guadalcanal and 1944 - Bougainville.

At the end of the war, I was discharged from the Marine Corps and married my wife, Frances.  We have three terrific children, and three grandchildren of whom we are very proud.  And - hey folks - we are STILL happily married after 52 years!

Frances taught in the Louisiana School System for 22 years and just finished a long, successful term as Secretary-Treasurer of our church.

Me... well I retired from the Louisiana State Police Department after 20 years of service, spent another 10 years as a detective in other departments, and then left police work.  "To do what," you ask?  Well... to become Chief Investigator for the Coroner's Office (you just can't keep a good man down!)

My hobbies include:
The Perils of Fishing
  • Fishing (catfish is my favorite)
  • Oil Painting
  • Amateur Radio ( and am I ever a ham!)
  • Surfing and chatting on the www
  • Dancing in a phone booth (you can get real close that way) :-)
And not necessarily in that order either.

Frances and I both love to travel and we do so whenever possible.  This year's venture was a Carribean Cruise (yeah that's OK you can turn green with envy now.)

On the next page, you can see pictures of my family, and my home and for my contribution to the tropical theme,  I will be featuring a different tropical place every month, on my links page.  This month's choice - The BAHAMAS
