The Winter Palace of the Dalai Lamas.

The Potala stands on Red Hill overlooking Lhasa. Due to its size and elevated position, it is visible from many places throughout the city. Within the structure, which is about 13 stories high, are hundreds of rooms, each packed with priceless treasures. I took this picture in the middle of the afternoon in October, without using a polarizing filter or any other devices.
