Magic Journeys
Magic Journeys was a delightful 3-D film that originally opened at Journey into Imagination on October 1, 1982, the day that Epcot opened. It moved to the Magic Kingdom 5 years later, after it was replaced by Captain EO, and ran in the Fantasyland Theatre from December 15, 1987 until December 1, 1993, when it closed to make way for Legend of the Lion King. In the preshow area, guests watched the classic 1953 Chip n' Dale cartoon, "Working for Peanuts", presented here in 3-D. Guests then moved into a larger theatre, for the main film. Magic Journeys gave guests an impressionistic view of a child's imagination, with some neat 3-D effects. This light-hearted film paved the way for such great attractions as Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, It's Tough to be a Bug, and Muppet Vision 3-D.
