"The thick fog hangs around for 9 months of the year until December, when it finally lifts and allows for a fantastic view of the smog"

Lima, a.k.a. "City of Kings", is the place where I was born. Plagued with overcrowding, pollution, and other growing pains of big world capitals, it nevertheless has its own unique charm. Here is a small visual tour of this vast metropolis set amidst the driest desert on earth.

Within the Historic Centre, much of the lovely colonial architechture is found.

South of Lima Centre, the seaside districts of San Isidro, Magdalena, Miraflores, and Barranco are found. With their impeccably manicured gardens, commercial and financial centers, and fine parks along the seaside cliffs, they are unlike much of the rest of Peru.
