The Matrimony started around 11am with 9 presents for the bride and 11 for the groom consisted of a case of betel nut (traditional), a set of clothes (both), a pair of shoe (both), a handbag (bride), a wallet (groom), a set of cosmetics (both), cakes (both), fruits (both) and of course a wedding ring for the bride. The matrimony is a simple process of the groom saying "I accept the matrimony of *bride's name* with the wedding gift of *official amount* cash." to the Head of Muslim Community (called Kadi). The official amount for the State of Selangor, Malaysia was Malaysian 80 ringgit (US$ 30). Two witnesses and the bride would testify to the saying and if "yes" all the official documentation and signing would proceed. After that the groom would recite a sort of a "wedding regulations" set by the Islamic law. Then the groom would put on the ring on the bride and its all done. Quite simple.
