Accommodation

Since most of the tourists arrive in Faial in their yachts and many visitors stay in their relatives' homes, there are not many hotels on the island. In the last few years new hotels have been opened and many people are now renting rooms, increasing the competition and so also decreasing the prices. In most cases the facilities, service and prices are quite alright, but what makes the hotels in Faial outstanding is their quiet environment and breathtaking view. This is even more so in countryside tourism which uses newly refurbished old villas away from any noise. If nature is more of your preference, there are designated camping parks located at Praia do Almoxarife, Alagoa, Salão and Capelo.
