Scone Palace from the old gate to the palace.
Scone Palace is about 2 miles north of Perth. The palace is an impressive building housing an even more impressive collection of
furniture and porcelain. The only downside is that one ends the tour of
the house in a gift shop. However, it's the grounds of the Palace that impressed
me the most. Trees planted by dignitaries from all over the world grace
the grounds. Yet, there's still enough space that the grounds don't feel
cluttered. Even with the crowds that visit the palace, its very easy to
feel that you're the only one wandering the grounds. Visitors should not
miss the replica of the Stone of Scone on Moot Hill where the Scottish kings
were crowned. The entrance price is £5.00 for both the grounds and
the palace, half price for just the grounds. There aren't any student discounts
for entrance.
