CURRYHOLICS RESTAURANT ROUNDUP
BERKSHIRE XENUK 428, Finchampstead Rd, Finchampstead Wokingham.
Xenuk means pink pearl, which Bangladesh is famous for. New smart restaurant for that special evening. Private parking outside the restaurant. I had a really lovely lightly spiced minced chicken pattie I can't remember the name the waiter ordered it for me with salad garnish and a creamy/minty chutney. Chicken Achari, which means pickled, spicy well cooked and rounded flavour.
Price check. Popadom = 50p, Chicken Achari = £6.50p, Pillau rice = £2.20p.
LONDON BRASSERIE Courtfield Close, Courtfield Rd, Kensington, London SW7.
As usual, excellent (if only we could afford to go there more often).
The ambience and the service take some beating. We normally like it hot, but just 'spicy' was very hot - I dread to think what 'very spicy' would be like. The menu was so tempting we wanted to try it all and it was difficult to choose. Food, beautifully presented - amazing Prawn Masala with prawns the size of golf balls. Bhindi Jaipuri - dry crisp and very tasty. I wish I knew how it was made.
Price check Chicken biriani = £5.35p, Lamb Korma = £3.50p, Naan = £1.35p Cauliflower bhajai £1.95p.
PASSAGE OF INDIAOld Market, Nailsworth.
A comprehensive menu, but expensive in fact, one of the most expensive outside London. Food was good. Starters well cooked and portions large. Onion bhajis (6 small) crisp with plenty of onions. Sheek kebab spicy and hot. Chicken Dhansak nicely spiced. Lamb Tikka disappointing. Vegetables, rice and Naan well up to standard. Take-away price check: Popadom 50p, Onion bhaji £2.30, Chicken Tikka Masala £5.50, Pillau rice £1.75, Restaurant prices about £1.50 - £2 more expensive.
CURRY INDIA Crouch Street Colchester Essex.
A superb restaurant in the heart of Colchester.
I have eaten in many Indian restaurants but time after time Curry India always comes out on top.
The staff are first class, as is the food. Without a doubt the best tikha masalla Ive ever tasted. Price is very reasonable.
A popular place serving very good food, and next to an equaly good pub serving the finest real ales, heaven.
RAG NAGAR 8 High Street, Cheadle, Staffs.
The best Balti and chicken tikka massala I have ever had.
THE BLUE ELEPHANT 299 George St, Aberdeen
Its just a take away, no resteraunt but the grub is exceptional. Its the only place ive seen get top marks (95% i think) in the local Evening Express food review, we just cant get enough of the Uttar Pradesh Masalla or the East Bengali Chilli Massala.
Weekends in Aberdeen just wouldnt be the same without a Blue Elephant.

CARINGBAH president ave sydney australia.

AMIRUL TANDOORI Loughborough Road Leicestershire
Very friendly staff. King Prawn Bhuna is excellent fresh and crisp. We particularly like all the prawn and fish dishes.
