Living Healthy

Food - different gliders like different things, but it VERY important that a glider gets enough calcium. I'm still learning the essantials of feeding my gliders, so I'll have to send you elsewhere for this one. I will say though, that Milly and Margo love Mango!

A Good Food page thanks to Ruth.....
If you don't read anything else, read THIS! (experience w/ hind-leg paralysis)
ISGA Food Tips....

Household Hazards - keep the toilet seat down! Gliders have drowned; very sad but unfortunately true. Let us not all learn the hard way. Keep in mind that some household plants are dangerous, as are dirty ashtrays, household chemicals, and pretty much anything you wouldn't want to swallow and then some (chocolate and coffee are not good for gliders).

Unsafe Plants courtesy of ISGA... (and some safe ones too)

Outdoors - is a very risky idea. Remember that fuzzy creature from Gremlins, before he turned into a gremlin? Bright Light, bright light -- he didn't like bright light. Well, neither do sugar gliders. Extensive exposure can sometimes lead to damage. Don't forget, gliders like trees--tall trees. Enough said.

Other Pets - cats chase mice. sugar gliders look much like a small rodent. need i say more?
