The water trough !!! Long
forgotten, until I spotted this picture in Penjo's GMS Site. Many a time, under
the pretense of washing my hands, I would sneak off into the kitchen at the end
of this corridor. Neatly tucked away in my pant pockets would be a couple of
buttered slices of bread wrapped in a napkin. Once inside I'd quickly lay the
bread on the hot metal plate, buttered side down, and then flip it over once.
In under a minute or two I'd have the most delicious toasted bread in my
possession. This was always a risky proposition as the kitchen area was
"out of bounds" for students. The kitchen staff would remind me that
I wasn't allowed to be there but since I didn't make it a regular habit they
never 'tattled' on me.
