St. Helen's School. Definitely "out of bounds" for
us ! This rule was firmly enforced by staff from both our schools. The only
time we were reluctantly welcomed into these hallowed halls was during our
annual socials. One such occasion was on the Annual Sports Day and I seem
unable to recall the other at the moment. After the conclusion of the
"last dance" we'd head out into the dark to trudge up the hill to
school. Usually the wonderful fragrances from the perfumes used by the girls we
danced with would linger on to our shirts for the next few days !!! Overall a
most enjoyable occasion for us guys.
