Kalimpong's "Mela Ground" where all the major festivities take place throughout the year. Located in the heart of the city the field is the center of attraction during the "Football" season, political rallies, fairs and the many National Celebrations. A gigantic parade is held on August 15th. India's Independence Day when all the schools are represented on the field. Each school participates in the Annual march past the National flag exhibiting their precision marching skills in front of the whole city smartly clad in their school uniforms.
